📖Today is National Read A Book Day, and VES teachers took the opportunity on Friday to get a head start on this celebration of reading with students! They played some old-fashioned switcheroo and read a favorite book to a class that was NOT their own! It was also a great opportunity for teachers to connect with former classes they had taught or with students they hadn't yet experienced....and everyone read a great book!
Now that we've gotten a jump start on this day of reading, we encourage everyone to read a book today!📚❤️
The Elementary Fundraiser ends today! All money and orders must be turned in by 3:15 pm today to qualify for prizes like the MEGA Party and Money Booth! Thank you for supporting our students' efforts to raise money for VES!
Congratulations to the 2025 Dewey County Fairest of the Fair, Vici's Raquel Todd!! Raquel performed a vocal solo to "Doublewide" for her talent. She was also awarded Miss Photogenic.
Raquel had an enthusiastic support team present at tonight's pageant in Taloga, in fact, the ladies who came to support her were the loudest, by far! ❤️👏🏻 Congratulations Raquel, we are so proud of you! #viciproud
This morning, a staff member experienced a medical emergency and the ambulance was called to the school. The staff person is okay, and we didn't want parents to be alarmed at the sight of the ambulance. Please feel free to contact the school with any questions or concerns.
The Dewey County Fair begins Wednesday, September 3rd and runs through Saturday, September 6th.

Vici Public Schools has cancelled school for Monday, August 25th, 2025. At this time, all school facilities are without power & it is uncertain when it will be restored. Thank you for your understanding as Mr. Nelson makes this difficult decision.

Vici JH/HS students participated in Student Council Elections this week! Six upperclassmen campaigned for offices and delivered speeches. Those students are Gavin McGaha, Hannah Nance, Raquel Todd, Eli Harrel, Abigail Poulson, and Isaac Keeton. Great job to all who campaigned! 👏🏻

We are excited to announce that our annual Cookie Dough fundraiser starts Friday, August 22nd! We will be sending home all the information with your student on Friday. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year! Our goal is to raise $30,000 in total sales for Classroom needs for Students, Books, Playground Equipment and Field Trips.

PARENTS AND GUARDIANS PLEASE BE AWARE!
Yesterday, we had some high school students who felt uncomfortable about their surroundings while walking downtown at lunch time. Please remind your children to practice safety strategies like not walking alone and being aware of their surroundings at all times, even when in a group. Remind them that if they feel uncomfortable about their surroundings or feel unsafe in any manner they should call 911 or the school at 580-995-4251.
Vici Police Department and SRO Berrios will increase their patrol of our campus and surrounding area as well.
We certainly don't intend to scare anyone with this information, but we care about out students and want them to be vigilant in being safe when they are on or off campus. Please feel free to contact your child's principal if you have any questions or concerns.
