Vici students Erin Bain and Devin Harrison recently competed in the Service Careers- State Skills USA Competition with High Plains Tech Center. Today, three Vici high school students were recognized for their excellence in writing at the Red Ribbon Week Awards Ceremony held at the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame. Graham Heidlebaugh, Abigail Poulson, and Finley Harrel received a commendation from Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt, a gold Jim Thorpe medal, Sonic gift cards, and a large printout of their essays. State tests for 3rd through 8th begin tomorrow, April 13th! Students who are present for EVERY day their class tests will earn ice cream from Dr. Nelson! Please make sure children get a good night's rest and eat a healthy breakfast on test days.

We had our first visit from the NEW Bookmobile today! It's awesome, and we are so glad the Western Plains Library System provides this valuable service to our school and community!

The 2026 National Honor Society Induction was held today in Jerald Shaw Auditorium. The National Honor Society (NHS) is an organization that recognizes high school students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, and character. It encourages members to give back to their communities while developing the skills and values needed for future success. Today, eight VHS students were inducted into the Vici NHS Chapter: Blayne Boswell, Kruz Gamble, Rhielan Jackson, Rowdy Menefee, Hayden Nebhut, Chaney Nix, Cameron Spencer, and Randy Stewart. The Oklahoma Science and Engineering Fair was held on the campus of Oklahoma State University on Friday, March 27th. A group of 9 Vici students qualified and competed in the state event. Rylee was nominated to compete in the Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge. Freshman, Finley Harrel won 2nd place in Plant Science in the HS Division and recipient a $2000 Scholarship. Congratulations Rylee and Finley! And great job to all of our scientists!
