Elementary Students! March is National Reading Month...so get ready for 🏀📚March Reading Madness📚🏀 from March 4th through April 3rd at VES! Your teachers will choose their favorite picture books, and we'll spend the month reading them, voting, and ultimately picking the 2025 VES Book Champion!
📚Yes, the students vote for their favorites, and eliminate books each round on Jersey Thursday!
📚Voting will happen every Thursday, so we want students to wear a jersey of any kind to school through April 3rd.
📚We'll have a live book bracket at school so you can follow along with all of the voting, and we'll share some updates for parents too!
📚Our TEAM of teachers and staff have an excellent game plan to make March Reading Madness fun and engaging for our students and families! Happy Reading! And may the BEST book WIN! 📚🏆

The students in Mrs. Salisbury's ACT prep class designed and built gliders. Their mission was to build a glider that would fly from the second floor seating on the home side in the gymnasium to a target on the gym floor. They each tested their gliders' accuracy, and competed against one another to see which glider was most accurate. Dylan Randall and Mack Johnson designed and built the First Place glider. Second Place was Gavin McGaha and Isaac Keeton. And Third Place was Ruel Carnegy, Kanaan Lawrence and Landon Coleman. These students were going to attend the OU Engineering Fair on Wednesday with their gliders, but it has been cancelled due to weather. Great job, young men! #viciproud

Due to continued inclement weather and extreme wind chills, Vici Public Schools have cancelled classes for Wednesday, February 19th. Please continue to have your child work on assignments and read. Be safe and stay inside, if possible!

The students and staff at Vici Public Schools are blessed to have our Academic Counselor, Miss Kylan Watkins, on our team! Counselor Appreciation Day happened recently, (and although we missed recognizing her on that day) it's never too late to say THANK YOU for the many ways she supports and teaches Vici students! From scholarships and college visits to Drug-Free awareness and state testing, Miss Watkins makes a difference every day at Vici! #viciproud

For School Resource Officer Appreciation Day, Vici Schools would like to say thank you to our three local heroes: SRO Officer Berrios, Officer Vinyard, and Chief Conoway! These men are always visible at school and within our community, and they provide safety and many smiles! Thank you all! #viciproud

Three elementary classes participated in a national reading incentive called READBowl during the weeks in January leading up to the Super Bowl! The 1st grade classes participated read a total of 13,655 minutes for READBowl! The 3rd & 4th grade classes participated AND challenged each other to a healthy reading competition between the two classes with the winning class earning a party! The 4th grade won with a total of 59,406 minutes read, and the 3rd grade finished with 50,253 minutes read, and both classes celebrated with a TEAM day! We are thrilled that these students and teachers engaged in reading in such a fun way! And they are all READING WINNERS! 📖🏆❤️ (We'll share more photos of 3/4 READBowl on our Facebook page!)

School has been cancelled for Tuesday, February 18th. Teachers of grades 3rd through 12th gave students some assignments just in case we needed to close. Please have your child work on any assignments and read their library books while we are not able to be in school.
